My life is unusual only because there has been so little change.  My wife, Jane, and I will celebrate our 49th wedding anniversary in June.  I have been practicing law at the same law firm in Philadelphia since graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Law School over 46 years ago.  We have occupied the same home in Haverford, Pennsylvania for over 40 years.  I have been flying for over 55 years.  (I look back fondly on my flights in the Kenyon Flying Club’s two seat, fabric covered 65 hp Aeronca Champion from Port Kenyon’s grass runways.)  I have chaired the Board of the 400,000 member Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and served on its Board for over 36 years.

My community involvement has been enjoyable, too.  I am on the Board of Philadelphia’s Franklin Institute Science Museum and have served on the Boards of the National Constitution Center and The Philadelphia Foundation.  I have also chaired the local School Board and the area Division of the American Cancer Society and have served on the Zoning Hearing Board.

However, there is one very powerful indication of the passage of time:  My four children and seven grandchildren.  My oldest, Helen, 46, a lawyer, has two children.  Sandy, 44, stays home with her three children.  Son, Bob, 42, is an air traffic controller, and Ted, 40, the father of two, is teaching high school English and is the Dean of Students at the Rye  (NY), Country Day School.

I look forward to seeing my classmates and assuring everyone that none of us has changed a bit.
